Newburgh Man Convicted Of Brutal Attack Posted On Facebook, YouTube A Newburgh man whose brutal attack of two men with a chain and padlock was posted on Facebook and YouTube was convicted Tuesday by an Orange County jury, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Carlos Melendez, 29, was convicted of assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon for attacking the men on May 20, 2017, according to the DA's office. White Plains Man Behind Bars After Upstate Heroin Bust A White Plains man was busted for having 67 bags of heroin and other drugs during a traffic stop by Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies. Mykell Gray, 37, was arrested around 3 p.m. Sat., Dec. 30, after deputies stopped his vehicle for a violation on Route 42 in the Town of Thompson, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. During the stop, the deputy uncovered the heroin, in addition to 24 bags of crack cocaine and three cellphones, Chaboty said. Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck By Vehicle In Ramapo A pedestrian struck by a vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to the Ramapo Police. The pedestrian, who was hit around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Route 59 and North Airmont Road, was transported to  Good Samaritan Hospital by Ramapo Valley Ambulance and is expected to recover.
