She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Putnam Woman Dies In Fire A 52-year-old Philipstown woman died in an overnight fire at the Stepping Stone Group Home, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. The fire, which started around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, at the center at 345 Route 301, sent multiple fire department to the scene, said Putnam County Sheriff's Capt. Lisa Ortolano.  Arriving units discovered an active fire in a bedroom on the second floor of the residence. Route 22 Stretch In Bedford Remains Closed After Crash This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 22 in Bedford remains closed after a crash involving a dump truck. Bedford Police said the crash occurred just before 10 a.m. Friday on Route 22 at Bedford Center Road.  The closure is between Bedford Center Road and Clinton Road and had been expected to last until about 1 p.m., but the road remains closed at 1:30 p.m. Police did not have information regarding injuries.  This is a developing story. Ossining School Lockdown Lifted An early morning lockdown at Ossining High School has been lifted after police performed a sweep of the premises, according to the Ossining Police Department. The lockdown took place around 9 a.m. Friday at the school at 29 S. Highland Ave., for an unspecified threat. Police responded within minutes and searched the building before lifting the lockdown. Orange County Businessman Pleads Guilty To Underreporting Income By $1M A 59-year-old Orange County business owner pleaded guilty to felony tax fraud for underreporting his income by $1,086,654, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
