She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Peekskill Police Chief To Retire, Take New Position Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen plans to retire from the department on March 3 in order to take another position nearby. Johansen, who has been with the department for 24 years, five of those as chief, said Wednesday he couldn't name the position he is taking, but did say it was bittersweet to leave his hometown force. Child Porn Suspect Faces New Charge In Stamford A 29-year-old man convicted 10 years ago for having sex with a pre-teen girl in a mall parking garage, has been arrested again for violating his probation, according to the Connecticut State Department of Corrections. Brien Pennell of Stamford was arrested after his probation officer was tipped off that he was in possession of electronic devices, which is against his probation parameters, reported the Stamford Advocate. Area Woman Caught Shoplifting At Stony Point ShopRite A local woman was nabbed for shoplifting last week at the ShopRite in Stony Point after walking out of the store without paying for several items, according to Stony Point Police. Shaunise Hooker, 34, Garnerville, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 1, after police were called to the store at 22 Holt Drive, for a report of a woman taking items from the shelves then walking out of the store, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. Hooker was charged with three counts of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. She was processed and released and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 20.

Greenwich Man Charged With Slugging Another In Mouth During Fight A Greenwich man was arrested for slugging another person in the mouth over their drug use, injuring them, according to the Greenwich Police.Frank Stamberg, 58, of Sheephill Road, was arrested and charged with assault Thursday, Jan. 25 after police said he struck another person in the mouth who was experiencing withdrawal symptoms, police said. The two had reportedly been arguing about the victim's drug use leaving Stamberg with a swollen knuckle and the victim with a bloody mouth, police said. Man Involved In Fatal Shooting Of Teen In Bridgeport Pleads Guilty One of two men responsible for the death of a 14-year-old Bridgeport teen pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and possession of a pistol without a permit just before heading to trial for his murder, according to the State's Attorney Office. 25 Vehicles Involved In Tappan Zee Bridge Crashes That Caused Closure Update, 3:30 p.m. Three lanes are now open in each direction on the new Tappan Zee Bridge with some delays still existing following earlier crashes that involved some 25 vehicles and closed the bridge for about three hours. Two Arrested After Police Chase Through Fairfield County A 27-year-old man and a juvenile were arrested following a high-speed chase on I-95 in a stolen car by Connecticut State Troopers. Troopers from Troop G in Bridgeport were conducting a speed enforcement on I-95 near Milford around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, when they observed a black Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed, Trooper Kelly Grant said. Man Sentenced For Road Rage Death Of Baby In Rockland A man who crashed his car, killing a 3-month-old boy during a road rage incident in Monsey last summer has been sentenced to one-and-a-third to four years in state prison, according to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office.
