Poughkeepsie Man Driving Stolen Car With Child Aboard Faces Drug Charges A Poughkeepsie man was arrested for threatening to beat up a woman whose car he stole and for having a wanted juvenile in the vehicle when caught, according to Town of Lloyd Police. Shyron N. Williams, 29, was nabbed on Thursday, March 22, by Lloyd Police operating the vehicle on Route 44/55 in Highland and was in the company of a 15-year-old juvenile, said Lt. James Janso. DWI East Fishkill Man Had Child On Board In Rollover Crash, Sheriff Says An East Fishkill man is behind bars after crashing his vehicle while drunk with an 8-year-old passenger, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Johnny J. Symes, 52, was arrested following a single-vehicle rollover crash around 5:53 p.m. Sunday on New Hackensack Road in the Town of LaGrange, deputies said. Deputies said Symes drove a 2003 Honda off the east side of the road before hitting an embankment and overturning. Neither Symes nor the child were injured. DWI Motorist Drove On Shoulder Of Route 22, Sheriff Says A Pawling man was arrested for DWI after Putnam County Sheriff's deputies watched him drive on the shoulder of Route 22. Ryan C. Castle, 31, was arrested around 2:10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, when Deputy Sheriff Ronald Yeager observed a vehicle traveling south on the shoulder of Route 22 in the Town of Southeast, the department said. After stopping the vehicle, Yeager determined that Castle was intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI with a BAC of .12%, and driving on the shoulder, deputies said. Man With Expired Registration Caught With Heroin In Wilton A Bridgeport man was nabbed with heroin after being stopped by Wilton Police for an expired vehicle registration. Ovidio Marquez, 25, was arrested Sunday after being stopped and the officer smelled marijuana when he walked up to the vehicle, police said. The vehicle and its occupants were searched and police seized a half-ounce of pot and 10 small wax folds of heroin which totaled 2.4 grams, police added. DWI Northern Westchester Man Nearly Hit Snow Embankment, Sheriff Says A northern Westchester man was arrested after Putnam County Sheriff's deputies watched as failed to maintain a single lane and almost hit a snow embankment. Michael H. Bernecker, 27, of North Salem, was arrested around 2 a.m. Saturday, March 10, when Sgt. William Quick stopped his vehicle in the Town of Southeast for the infractions and quickly realized Bernecker was intoxicated, the sheriff's office said. Bernecker was charged with DWI with a BAC of .13 percent and traffic violations. He was released and is due to appear in The Town of Southeast Justice Court on a future date.

Support Pours In For Family Of Mother, Son Killed In Hudson Valley Accident The grieving family of a mother and an infant who were killed and her three other children injured after being hit as they crossed Route 52 in Fishkill are asking for help with funeral expenses through a GoFundMe page. Orange County Man Sentenced For Beating Victim With Chain, Padlock A Newburgh man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for seriously injuring a man with a chain and padlock, fracturing the victim’s skull, according to the Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
