Woman Accused Of Stealing $17,000 From Wilton Jewelry Store
A Queens woman was arrested by police in Fairfield County in connection with the theft of $17,000 in jewels from an area jeweler in 2017.
Paula Hurtado, 38, of Astoria, was picked up at Bedford Correctional Center by Wilton police on an active warrant and extradited her to Connecticut to face felony larceny charges, the Wilton Police Department said.
Hurtado's arrest is three of four stemming from a 2017 investigation where the suspects conducted a distraction type larceny at Campus Jewelers, police said.

Woman, 21, Tried To Deposit Fake Check In Westport, Police Say
A 21-year-old woman was arrested by Westport Police after allegedly attempting to deposit a fraudulent check.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 19, when Westport officers were dispatched to Citibank on a report of a female attempting to deposit a fraudulent check into the account of a third person, said the Westport Police.
Upon arrival, officers identified the woman as Xiara Bermudez of Queens. Officers learned Bermudez attempted to deposit the check at a branch in another town prior to coming to Westport, but left before any transaction took place, police said.

IDs Released For Man, Woman Killed In Torrington Crash
A man and a woman killed in a three-vehicle crash in Torrington have been identified.
Danielle Dubois, 36, and Christopher Massey, 36, both of Torrington, were killed during a crash with a pickup truck and a small van, that took place around 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24 in the area of Goshen Road and University Drive, said the Torrington Police Department.
An initial on-scene investigation indicated the motorcycle was traveling east on Goshen Road and crossed the center double yellow line in the area of University Drive, police said.

Huntington Teen Suspect In Custody After Allegedly Crashing Into Officer In Farmingdale
A hit-and-run driver who allegedly ran over several people, including a Nassau County police officer outside of a hookah club in Farmingdale, has been nabbed by police.
Officers from the department's Second Squad reported the arrest of Eric Dori, 19, of Huntington, on Friday, April 26, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Dori was charged with two counts of assault, leaving the scene of an incident with serious injuries and leaving the scene of an incident with property damage.

Supermarket, CVS Are Newest Locations For Measles Exposure In Suffolk
Suffolk County Department of Health Services officials are warning residents of two new locations where a person infected with the measles visited while infectious.
The first confirmed case of the measles was announced this week in the county. Since then, health officials said the person had visited additional locations and anyone who also visited in the same time frame may have been exposed to measles.
The locations include:

Man, 24, Caught With Stolen Gun At Burger Joint In Stamford, Police Say
A 24-year-old man was busted with an alleged stolen gun while stopping in a restaurant to grab a burger, said the Stamford Police Department.
The bust went down around 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, when members of the Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit learned that two men would be in the area of the Five Guys restaurant on High Ridge Road with guns, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers set-up surveillance on the restaurant and watched as two men, including Wilbert Bunch of Stamford walked into the restaurant. Officers moved in and searched both men, Conklin said.
