Coram Man, 33, Charged With Forcibly Raping Teen Girl A 33-year-old man has been arrested for forcibly raping a 14-year-old girl in Coram, said the Suffolk County Police. Richardo Gurdon, of Coram, was arrested around noon, Wednesday, June 26, after Sixth Precinct officers responded to an apartment complex on Country Club Drive after a 14-year-old girl reported she had been sexually assaulted by a man inside an apartment at the complex, police said. Know Them? Vandals Break Into Nature Center In Smithtown, Feed Animals Beer Authorities are hoping that photos will help identify a group of men who vandalized and traumatized animals at the Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown. The vandals have broken into the facility several times, but during a recent incident they climbed into pens housing animals that have been abused or traumatized and damaged cages, letting the animals out to roam around the grounds, causing many of them to become upset, said Nicole Garguilo, spokeswoman for Smithtown. Man Found Dead After Overnight House Fire Breaks Out In Hauppauge A 59-year-old man was found dead inside his Hauppauge home from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after setting the residence on fire, Suffolk County Police said. The fire was reported at the Colonial-style home around 10:49 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, at 108 Grissom Way, the Suffolk County Police said. Suspects Caught, Cash Recovered After TD Bank Armed Robbery In Bridgeport An alleged bank robber was caught after he fled the scene with a bag of cash, Bridgeport Police said. The incident took place around 10:27 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, when police received a 911 call that the TD Bank at 975 Madison Ave., was being robbed, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police. Woman Killed In Miller Place Hit-Run Reportedly Knew Suspect A woman killed during a hit-and-run crash reportedly knew the man who was arrested for the crime. Cause Of Death Released For Glen Cove Pizzeria Owner Vacationing In Dominican Republic Details on the death of a longtime owner of a Long Island pizzeria who died in the Dominican Republic have been released. Vittorio Caruso, 56, of Glen Cove died Monday, June 17, shortly after he reportedly drank something and became critically ill in Santo Domingo at the Boca Chica Resort.
