Man Stabbed By Teenage Girl After Locating Stolen Car At Trumbull Mall, Police Say
A 22-year-old was stabbed at the Westfield Trumbull Mall after confronting two teenage girls who had allegedly stolen his vehicle.
Alizen Elliston, 19, of Bridgeport was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and charged with assault, said Trumbull Police Department Lt. Brian Weir.
According to Weir, the victim, a Bridgeport man, learned that a credit card which had been left in his stolen vehicle was being used at a store at the mall. Shortly after noon, the man went to the mall and located his stolen vehicle in the mall parking lot with the two young teens inside.

Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a huge fire that has broken out at a popular Northern Westchester diner that has also closed parts of Route 9.
The fire, at the Landmark Diner, at 265 Highland Ave., in Briarcliff Manor, began around 9:45 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, said the Briarcliff Police Department.
The fire, which including heavy flames throughout the building, has closed Route 9 from Acardia to Scarborough Road, the police department said.

Man Drags Victim To Puddle In Road, Forces Face Underwater During Fight, Police Say

A 48-year-old area man was arrested for allegedly attacking a victim and forcing his face into a puddle of water during the assault, Milford Police said.
Bernard DeSantis, of Milford, was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 18, on charges of assault and breach of peace after Milford Police responded to an East Broadway residence for the report of a fight, said the Milford Police.

Richard French III, the president of RNN News took time out of his daily TV show to talk about the upcoming closure of FiOS1 News after Verizon pulled out of contract talks with the company run by RNN and RNN-TV.
“The ending of FiOS1 is personal,” said French, whose family owns both companies. “Around 150 good people, both behind and in front of the cameras, will be displaced, (that) includes anchors, reporters, producers, videographers and so many other faces you will never see."

Boater Injured By Propeller After Leaving Boat In Gear, Police Say
A 57-year-old man suffered serious injuries after he was struck by the propeller of an 18-foot boat that he had rented for the day in Great Peconic Bay off Laurel.
The incident took place around 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, when the man, identified as Stefan Palm, a visitor from Germany, entered the water to take a turn on a water tube and failed to realize that the boat had been left in gear, said the Southhold Police Department.
The action caused the boat to keep moving and the propeller hit Palm in the leg, causing extensive damage to his lower extremities, police said.
