Third Alleged MS-13 Member Charged In Massapequa Preserve Slaying, Authorities Say
A third alleged MS-13 gang member has been charged with the murder of a man whose remains were found in the Massapequa Preserve during an intensive search of the area.
Samuel Ponce, 18, of Hempstead, was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 17, in connection with the murder of Bryan Steven Cho Lemus, 18, of Uniondale, whose body was discovered on Friday, May 24, by Nassau County detectives searching the preserve, said the Nassau County Police.
Lemus' remains were discovered after several searches of the area, police and Nassau officials said.

Bridgeport Man Held On $1M Bail For June Homicide, Police Say
An area man has been arrested for the alleged June murder of a North Carolina man who grew up in the area and was back staying with his mother.
Eugene Brown, 35, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, Sept. 16, by Bridgeport Police Officer Mark Martocchio for the Monday, June 24, shooting death of Anthony McKinstry, 30, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
"The arrest was the result of the outstanding work done by Detective Jorge Cintron and all the others that assisted in this case," said Lt. Christopher LaMaine.

Greenwich HS Grad From Newtown Killed In I-84 Wrong-Way Crash
Funeral services have been set for a Newtown business owner and Greenwich High School graduate who was one of two people killed in a wrong-way crash on I-84.
According to Connecticut State Police, Diego Fernando Jimenez, 48, of Newtown, died following a wrong-way crash around 1 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, on I-84 in Southbury.
State Police said the crash occurred when David Hozer, 46, of Southbury, was traveling the wrong way on westbound I-84 when his 2011 Audi Q5 struck a limousine Jimenez was driving.
