Accused Long Island MS-13 Member Charged In Two Killings, Including Hacking Death
A reputed MS-13 member from Long Island has been arrested in connection with the deaths of two men, one of whom was hacked with a machete and another who was shot.
Carlos Alfaro, 22, of Roosevelt, will be arraigned Wednesday, Feb. 19, with two counts of second-degree murder, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, Alfaro is responsible for the 2016 murder of Josue Amaya Leonor, 19, whose body was found in 2018 in a wooded area of the Roosevelt Preserve during an investigation by the Homicide Squad, along with Homeland Security investigators.

Nazi Flag Back On Display In Area Apartment Window After Earlier Removal Following Complaints
A Nazi flag that was hanging in an area apartment window last year is back and this time the tenant has no plans to take it down.
The flag was hanging in an apartment at 776 Main St., in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
After an uproar last year by the public, and with warnings from the rental management company, the flag was taken down.
Last week, the flag was spotted again, but the landlord, Chris Orefice, president of Integrity Property Management, said on Wednesday, Feb. 19, that the tenant told him it was his right to hang the flag and he had no plans to take it down.

A woman who was stabbed repeatedly inside a library in the area has died from her injuries.
The 52-year-old woman, reportedly a security guard who has not been identified, was stabbed around 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Finklestein Library, located at 24 Chestnut Street in Spring Valley, said Spring Valley Police Det. Reginald Anderson.

ID Released For 32-Year-Old Man Killed In Orange County Crash
A 32-year-old man killed during a two-vehicle crash in Orange County has been identified.
Bergen County resident Joseph R. Farina, of Mahwah, was killed around 7:20 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, following the crash on School Road in the town of Monroe, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.
According to Nevel, Patrick J. Early, 67, of Warwick, was driving a 2013 Acura TL west on School Road when he was involved in a collision with a 1996 Toyota Avalon traveling east being operated by Farnia.
Farina was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
