Former Fdny Firefighter From Westchester Dies From 9-11 Related Cancer
A retired FDNY firefighter from the area who responded to the 9/11 terrorist attack along with his older brother who was killed that day, has died from an illness related to his work at Ground Zero.
Westchester resident and Rockland County high school graduate Daniel R. Foley, 46, of New Rochelle, died Saturday, Feb. 22, from pancreatic cancer. His cancer was attributed to his rescue and recovery efforts at the site, according to the FDNY.

Woman Charged With Homicide In Death Of Pedestrian, Stamford Police Say
A Fairfield County woman has been charged with negligent homicide with a vehicle in connection with the death of a pedestrian.
Courtney Sabia, 24, of Stamford, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 21, for the Nov. 2019, death of Nancy Flores, 60, of Stratford, said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
Sabia's arrest comes on the heels of an investigation by the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad that found Sabia allegedly responsible for the fatal event that took place in the area of Tresser and Washington boulevards.

Man Arrested For Violating No Harassment Order, Stalking Woman, Police Say
A 50-year-old Ulster man has been arrested for allegedly violating a no harassment order and began stalking the victim again.
Donald DeGroat, of Saugerties, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 20, for violating the no harass order, said Chief of Saugerties Police.
The chief said DeGroat's arrest came after he began following the victim around, calling the victim repeatedly, telling the victim he was watching her, and telling the victim each time where she was.
"The actions by Donald DeGroat placed the victim in fear," he said.

Trio Nabbed For Guns, Drugs After Neighbors Complain Of Drug Sales, Police Say
Following complaints of drug sales taking place in a Rockland County neighborhood, three area residents were arrested on drugs and gun charges.
Jenna Mazzella, 27, Anderson Jean, 36, and Richard Carpentieri (Knieriem), 34, all from Nanuet, were arrested by Clarkstown Police on Thursday, Feb. 20, following the execution of a search warrant, said Clarkstown Police Officer Norman Peters.
Officers searched the warrant on Church Street in Nanuet around 2 p.m., following an investigation into the complaints, said Peters.

Hepatitis Confirmed In Westchester Event Space Employee
The Westchester County Health Department is warning anyone who attended a recent special event at the Factoria in Peekskill may have been exposed to hepatitis A.
A worker at the event held on Saturday, Feb. 15, was found to be working while infectious, the health department said.
Anyone who attended the event may have been exposed, the department said.
In an abundance of caution, because Fin & Brew shares an ice machine with the event space, patrons who ate at the restaurant on Sunday, Feb. 16, or Wednesday, Feb. 19, also could have been exposed, the department said.

Man Nabbed For Running Prostitute Out Of Westport Home, Police Say
A 65-year-old Fairfield Couty man has been arrested for allegedly promoting and permitting prostitution.
Richard Lepkowski, of Westport, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 19, by the Westport Police for an incident that took place in Oct. 2019, said Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso.
According to police, on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, officers responded to Lepkowski's home on a complaint of a verbal disturbance.
