Unlicensed 16-Year-Old Crashes Parents' Minivan At High Rate Of Speed In Rockland An unlicensed 16-year-old was arrested after allegedly taking his parents' vehicle without permission and crashing at a high rate of speed. The incident took place in Rockland County around 1:45 a.m., Friday, June 5, in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police, an officer was sitting at a red light on Viola Road at College Road when he spotted a 2018 Toyota Minivan run the red light at a high rate of speed, allegedly almost hitting the officer's vehicle. Woman Found Dead In Pool At Area Home A woman in her 70s was found dead in a pool after family members didn't hear from her for several hours. The unidentified Fairfield County woman was found at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, June 6, by the woman's son when he went to the home on Jones Hill Road in Monroe. According to Capt. Trees Crash Onto Car In Rockland A car was smashed when several trees fell on top of its roof. The incident took place in Rockland County on Stone Meadow Lane in Airmont on Monda afternoon, June 8, said the Ramapo Police. Crash Involving Overturned Tanker Truck Leads To Northern Westchester Road Closure An overturned tanker truck crash has closed a stretch of a busy roadway as police investigate the crash. ID Released For Long Island Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting A man shot dead by police on Long Island after allegedly threatening officers with a rifle has been identified. Suffolk County police said Jeffrey McClure, 26, of East Northport was shot and killed around 10:08 p.m., Sunday, June 7. According to homicide detectives, officers were called to the home at 23 Grant St. for a domestic incident. When they arrived, McClure allegedly pointed a gun at officers who then exited the home. Trumbull Police Provide Support At Protest Police helped several protestors who were overcome by heat exhaustion during a two-hour vigil to honor George Floyd. Several hundred people turned out at the Fairfield County vigil held at the Trumbull Town Hall gazebo on Saturday, June 6, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir. Three Nabbed After High-Speed Chase That Ended With Two Police Cruisers Hit Three men were arrested after taking New York State police on a chase that ended with two police vehicles being hit. The incident took place around 2:21 a.m., Saturday, June 6, when state police received information regarding a stolen 2006 GMC Envoy from New York City, which was spotted on I-84 in Orange County.
