Two Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Crash On Long Island Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash on  Long Island. The crash took place around 6:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, on the Sunrise Highway (Route 27)  eastbound near 112 in Patchogue, said the Suffolk County Police. One person was transported to Long Island Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and one person was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. One person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.
