An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Heroes! Secaucus Police Help Resuscitate Man Four Secaucus police officers helped resuscitate an unresponsive man on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 18, authorities said. Officers responded to the 200 block of Julianne Terrace and discovered the man was not breathing, Secaucus police said. Sergeant Nicholas Spangenberg and officer Thomas Schaffer began performing CPR, police said. Orange Man Learns Fate For Fatal Shooting At Supermarket: Prosecutor A 37-year-old Orange man convicted for fatally shooting a person outside a ShopRite was sentenced to 65 years in prison on Wednesday, March 19, authorities said. Darienne Murray was previously convicted of first degree murder for fatally shooting Melja Oliver, a 37-year-old East Orange resident, outside the supermarket at 533 Martin Luther King Blvd, Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said. Serial Hackensack Burglar Busted For 3rd Time In Sussex County: Police The third time was certainly not the charm for a 44-year-old Hackensack burglar in Sussex County on Tuesday, March 18. Jerry Montgomery, Jr was arrested for the third time for burglary in Sparta after he and Zachary Anderson, a 33-year-old Englewood resident, forcibly entered homes on Morgan Drive and Skyview Drive by breaking through the front door, Sparta police said. Infant Found In Lakewood Minivan Dies: Prosecutor A 4-month old infant died after he was found in a vehicle on Tuesday, March 18, authorities said. At 1:45 p.m., police responded to 5th Street and found paramedics rendering lifesaving aid to the baby, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. The baby was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, where he was pronounced dead, Billhimer said. The incident remains under investigation, Billhimer said.

Drunk Driver Crashed Into Police Car: Denville PD A 48-year-old Denville man is facing numerous charges after he drove drunk and crashed into a police car on Wednesday, March 12, authorities said. At 3:30 p.m., officers responded to Cooper Road for a report of a two-car crash involving a law enforcement vehicle, Denville police said. Steven Vasquez, the other driver, was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested, police said. Barnegat Man Dies Days After Pulled From Vehicle, Airlifted To Hospital: Police An 82-year-old Barnegat man died days after a two-car crash on Wednesday, March 12, authorities said. At 11 a.m., officers responded to West Bay Avenue and Heritage Point Boulevard and found the crash, Barnegat police said. A 2020 Ford F-150, driven by a 69-year-old man, was traveling west on West Bay when it collided with a 2018 Acura entering the roadway to travel eastbound, driven by the 82-year-old, police said.
