A Capital Region woman was arrested for more than $3,000 worth of welfare fraud, police announced Wednesday, Sept. 16. Jesika Christiansen, 38, of Mechanicville, pulled off the fraud between November 2024 and March 2025, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s office said. She was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 15. Woman Trying To Help Injured Deer Struck By Car, Airlifted To Hospital In NJ: Police
A 24-year-old woman was flown to a New Jersey hospital after she was hit by a car while trying to help an injured deer, authorities said. At 11:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, officers responded to Route 206 and Patricia Drive, where a Lake Hopatcong woman was found lying in the roadway after she was struck by a white Mazda while attempting to aid the injured animal, Mount Olive police said.
