Kathy Reaks has worked as a reporter in the local news business since 1984, starting as a news clerk and working her way up. She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

East Fishkill Police Take Part In 'No Shave November' If you notice a few East Fishkill Police officers looking a little scruffy this month, don't worry, they aren't going rogue.The officers are taking part in the annual "No Shave November," a national movement aimed at bringing attention to men's health and to help raise funds for charities. The dismantling operations will now move to Hudson River next week, with the removal of large sections of concrete and steel planned with mobile cranes and including the super crane. Pomona Man Steals Cash Register From Pearl River Business, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A Pomona man was nabbed for smashing the window of a Pearl River business and stealing the cash register, according to the Orangetown Police. Richard R. Young Jr., 48, was arrested Wednesday for the crime which took place on Sept. 27 at a commercial business on North Middletown Road in Pearl River, said Sgt. Joseph Sullivan.
