She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.
Michael Smith, 56, Of Stormville
Michael J. Smith, 56, of Stormville, formerly of Yonkers, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Vassar Brothers Hospital.
Smith was predeceased by his mother and father Helen and John Smith and his nephew Daniel Smith, Jr., he is survived by his wife Carol; brothers John Smith, Daniel Smith and wife Sharon; sisters Debbie and husband Pasquale Vigna, Kathleen Soto and partner Rob Broughton; numerous nieces and nephews, and his best friend Little Miss Miley.

Beloved Rockland Sheriff K-9 Officer Gibson Dies
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A beloved member of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Officer Gibson, a yellow Labrador retriever, has died following a serious medical condition.
Gibson, who was the devoted partner of Detective John Squillini, was a graduate of the Connecticut State Police and worked as an explosives detector canine for eight years and retired from service in 2016, said Chief William Barbera.

Longtime Putnam Resident Jason Daly, 42, Army Vet
Jason R. Daly, 42, of Putnam Valley, an officer with the NYPD and former Army veteran, died suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 29.
Daly was born on March 27, 1975, in Stoughton, Mass., to Robert and Joyce (Parrish) Daly. He joined the U.S. Army in 1995 and served until 2003.
While stationed in Hawaii he met Christine Marchadie and they married on Nov.17, 2001 in Hawaii. They moved to Putnam Valley, in 2004, and Daly started his career with the NYPD.
He is survived by his wife Christine; sons Colin and Sean; parents Robert Daly and Joyce Parrish Daly; brother, Mark, and many aunts and uncles.
