19-Year-Old Nabbed Out Of State For Area Rape, Police Say A 19-year-old man is behind bars for an alleged sexual assault after being caught out of state. The Orange County resident, Alex J. Oliveras, of Pine Bush, was nabbed by in Virginia on a warrant for a sexual assault in the Town of Montgomery, said Town of Montgomery Police Investigator Stephen Ragni. Oliveras is accused of committing the sexual assault before fleeing the area, Ragni. Oliveras was charged with first-degree forcible rape/compulsion and is being held at the Orange County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Body Found Inside Rockland Home Destroyed By Fire, Police Say One person was found dead inside a home that was engulfed in flames when police arrived. The fire in Rockland County was discovered around 1:06 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, when Ramapo Police responded to a report of a structure fire at North Pascack Road and Ewing Avenue in Hillcrest. When officers arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames, said Ramapo Police. ID Released For Man Who Died In House Fire A 93-year-old man who died in a house fire has been identified by police. George W. Hanson was found inside his Dutchess County home following the fire that was reported around 10:22 p.m., Thursday, April 30, on Tamarack Drive in Hopewell Junction, according to East Fishkill Police Lt. Derrick Cuccia. The blaze began around 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Fire Department said on Twitter. The fire was reported in a generator area and involved some debris in a shaftway, the department said. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, officials said on Twitter.
