Body Found Inside Rockland Home Destroyed By Fire, Police Say One person was found dead inside a home that was engulfed in flames when police arrived. The fire in Rockland County was discovered around 1:06 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, when Ramapo Police responded to a report of a structure fire at North Pascack Road and Ewing Avenue in Hillcrest. When officers arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames, said Ramapo Police. ID Released For Man Who Died In House Fire A 93-year-old man who died in a house fire has been identified by police. George W. Hanson was found inside his Dutchess County home following the fire that was reported around 10:22 p.m., Thursday, April 30, on Tamarack Drive in Hopewell Junction, according to East Fishkill Police Lt. Derrick Cuccia. When police arrived on the scene, the residence was fully engulfed in flames, Cuccia said. Fire Reported At Greenwich Hospital, Officials Say A fire has been reported at an area hospital treating many with patients with novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The blaze began around 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at Greenwich Hospital, the Greenwich Fire Department said on Twitter. The fire was reported in a generator area and involved some debris in a shaftway, the department said. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes, officials said on Twitter. It happened around 6:24 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, in Suffolk County on Union Avenue in East Islip. One of the vehicles, a Sprinter van, struck a utility pole. ID Released For Man Found Dead In Northern Westchester Pond The identity has been released for a man found dead in an area pond. The man's body was spotted in Northern Westchester around 2 p.m. Friday, May 1 at Leonard Park in Mount Kisco by a Westchester County police sergeant, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the police department.
