Shots Fired Into Spring Valley Apartment: Police Seek Witnesses A hail of gunfire struck a Rockland County apartment building over the weekend, prompting a police investigation, authorities said. The shooting happened around 9:51 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at 60 East Eckerson Rd. in Soring Valley, the village's police department announced on Monday, July 21.  Officers responded to reports of shots fired and found that several bullets had hit an apartment in the area. Alert Issued For Man Missing For Over Week In Clarkstown Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who has been missing from his Rockland County home for more than a week.  Keith Moran, age 59, was reported missing from his Clarkstown home on Sunday, July 13, the Clarkstown Police Department said on Saturday, July 19. He has not been seen since. Moran walks with a limp and has several tattoos, including a small red cross on his right cheek. Police believe he may be in Manhattan or Brooklyn. Sailboat In Distress, Missing Swimmer Both Saved Off Rye Coast On Same Day Police responded to two marine emergencies off the Westchester coast on the same evening.  The first call came in on Thursday evening, July 17, reporting a sailboat in distress off of Manursing Island, the City of Rye Police Department said on Friday, July 18.  Rye Bay Constables soon found the vessel and assisted a sailor in need of help. The boat was safely towed to Port Chester Harbor, where the sailor was evaluated by EMS and declined medical attention.
