Stamford Woman With Baby In Car Tased By Police A Stamford woman with her one-month-old child in the car was tased by Stamford Police after resisting arrest for not having a front license plate, Stamford Police said. Shyieca Bacchas, 34, refused to roll down her window when first pulled over around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Robert Shawinsky. Eventually, Bacchas rolled down the window and began immediately cursing at the officers and even tried to drive away, almost hitting one of the officers, Shawinsky said. Stamford Officials Settle $3.2M School Sex Assault Case Five men who claim they were sexually assaulted by a school gym teacher in the 70s and 80s settled a lawsuit with the city of Stamford, according to Libby Carlson, special assistant to Mayor David Martin. The city agreed to settle with the five men for $3.25 million on Thursday. The settlement was approved by Judge Barbara Bellis. The lawsuits claim that each of the men was under the age of 10 when they were sexually assaulted by Robert Martinez at the former Rogers School. Woman With Five Kids Arrested After Apparent Danbury Kidnapping Connecticut State Police apprehended a woman wanted for kidnapping after locating her car at a Danbury gas station. The incident took place Tuesday after troopers received a notice to be on the lookout for a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer from Pittsfield, Mass., with a woman and five children, said Trooper Kelly Grant. Route 9W Reopens Following Serious Crash, Traffic Backed Up This story has been updated. Route 9W southbound has reopened following a serious crash that closed all southbound lanes between Union Avenue and Caesar's Lane in New Windsor, according to New York State Police. Trooper Steven Nevel said all lanes reopened at 9:15 a.m., following the crash that occurred around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, but had few other details. This is a developing story. Woman Charged With Spitting On Police Officers In Stamford A Stamford woman was arrested after sneaking into a private event and eating and then spitting in the face of two police officers who were sent to remove her. Paticia Johnson, 34, was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer, criminal trespass, breach of peace and resisting arrest, according to the Stamford Police. Man Charged With Domestic Abuse In Stamford A Stamford man has been arrested for being a serial abuser of his girlfriend, according to the Stamford Police Department. Stamford Police Sgt. Joseph Kennedy said Jeisson Garcia, 22, was arrested for repeatedly beating his girlfriend going as far back as December or January from the evidence collected during a month-long investigation. Details Emerge In Larceny Charge Against Fairfield County Police Lieutenant The arrest of a 34-year-veteran of the Bridgeport Police Department for larceny was apparently linked to stealing overtime money, according to numerous sources.Lt.
